Students interested in changing their major must speak with their academic advisor to discuss the new majors’ requirements and the estimated timeline to request the major change. The form to request a major change for continuing students can be found on the Office of the Registrars website.
General Engineering students must meet the following requirements in order to be eligible to declare:
1. After first semester
12 credits earned at NJIT
Earned a 3.0 GPA or higher (cumulative)
Earned a B or better in both Calculus I (Math 111) and Physics I (PHYS 111/111a)
2. After first year
24 credits passed during the first year
Maintained a 2.5 GPA or higher (cumulative)
Earned C or better in both Calculus I (Math 111) and Physics I (PHYS 111/111a)
