NCE Programs and ABET Accreditation
NCE academic programs are continuously improved through our accredited quality system.
New Jersey Institute of Technology’s Engineering and Technology programs are accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (www.abet.org). Accreditation ensures that programs meet the quality standards established by the profession to prepare students for entry into the engineering workforce.
The Newark College of Engineering’s Bachelor of Science programs in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Chemical Engineering were among the earliest established at the college, with Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering first accredited by ABET in 1936. The Chemical Engineering program received its ABET accreditation at a later date. As additional Bachelor of Science, engineering programs, such as Computer and Industrial Engineering were developed, they were accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET. Similarly, newly created technology programs received accreditation through the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission (ETAC) of ABET. For more information, visit www.abet.org.
