The inaugural Engineering Co-op Network Night at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) in Newark, NJ, hosted by the Newark College of Engineering and Office of Career Development Services, proved to be a resounding success on Monday, March 4th. With an impressive turnout of approximately 70 students and representatives from 20 esteemed employers and alumni, the event served as a pivotal platform for students to hone their networking skills within a professional setting. Held at the Campus Center Ballroom, the event facilitated invaluable connections between students and industry professionals, fostering opportunities for internships, co-ops, and future career endeavors.
Among the distinguished attendees were prominent companies such as Valcor, renowned for its contributions to the aerospace industry, and Merck, a leading pharmaceutical powerhouse. The presence of these industry giants alongside eager students and seasoned alumni provided a dynamic environment ripe for networking and mentorship. Notably, many of the alumni present had themselves participated in internships or co-op programs, offering firsthand insights and guidance to the aspiring engineers in attendance.
Feedback from participants unanimously reflected a sense of fulfillment and enthusiasm, with each attendee expressing a desire to return for future iterations of the event.
