Structured Co-op Program

Structured Co-op Program for NCE Students

A structured co-op program is now available to NCE students. The program will consist of two periods of co-op work experiences integrated into the engineering curriculum. Students participating in this co-op program will be able to graduate in five years with significant industrial work experience. Table 1 illustrates the two possible co-op cycles that a student will follow.

Each co-op term period includes a summer semester and a fall or spring semester providing 25 weeks of co-op work experience. During the fall or spring semester of the first co-op period, the student would register ENGR 310 (Co-op Work Experience I), followed by ENGR 410 (Co-op Work Experience II) in the second co-op period.

Both ENGR 310 and ENGR 410 are 12 credits which allows the student to maintain full-time status during the co-op periods.
